- SPELLER2 : NOV, 1988
-
- This disk contains two additional files...
-
- 2300word.lis : This is a smaller dictionary in case you need a common
- word small dictionary for quick jobs or have disk space
- limitations. It contains, as the name implies, about
- 2300 words. The full dictionary file contains approximately
- 22,000 words as of this release.
-
- dummy.lis : This is a dummy dictionary file that contains NO words.
- It is useful for using SPELLER2 to obtain a complete list
- of all unique words in a document. This would be useful for
- starting a new dictionary file from scratch, say for example
- to make a foreign word dictionary.
-
- As of the date this disk is sent the file SPELLER.LIS contains 22,000 words.
- This list is an ACCURATE dictionary list. It has been very carefully checked
- so that it contains NO misspelled words. Other versions of the SPELLER program
- that have been distributed by public domain and shareware distributers have
- had dictionaries that have been built up by various program users. Some of
- these dictionary files are as large as 26,000 words, but contain many
- misspelled words (which I get undeservedly blamed for) and proper nouns that
- do not belong in a master dictionary list. With the option of an auxilliary
- dictionary that SPELLER now has there should be no reason to put proper nouns
- in the master list any more. If the date on the file SPELLER.LIS is NOT
- 11/01/88 when you receive this disk then the spelling list is not mine and do
- not blame me if it isn't accurate.
